Glasswork Analytics

About · Why us?

We’ve seen what big-tech AI does to businesses. We’re building the alternative.

We're a small South Yorkshire studio that believes AI should give your people their time back, not lock you in, hike your costs, and quietly walk off with your data.

The team

Two faces, one studio.

We are Will and Afroz. Both of us have an MSc in AI and Data Science, both born and based in South Yorkshire, and have both spent real time in real jobs - building automations and shipping software - before starting Glasswork together.

Will Battersby

Will Battersby

Co-Founder & Director

  • MSc Artificial Intelligence and Data Science
  • BEng Robotics and Mechatronics

Will has spent the last two years inside a working business building automations, watching how people actually do their jobs, and finding the small inefficiencies that quietly cost owners their evenings. That hands-on experience - not from a textbook - shapes how Glasswork scopes every project.

He leads client conversations, scoping and project direction, and is a power user of AI-assisted development, which lets Glasswork prototype and ship at unusual speed.

Afroz Khan

Co-Founder & Director

  • MSc Artificial Intelligence and Data Science
  • BSc Computer Science

Afroz spent two years as a Software Developer in the Education sector, working on software that underpins the industry.

He leads technical architecture and full-stack engineering at Glasswork: designing systems from the ground up and combining MSc-level AI with the discipline that makes machine learning actually work in production, not just in a notebook.

We’re both born and raised in South Yorkshire and we want Glasswork to have a real local impact - working with people who are great at what they do, and giving them the tools to keep being great at it.

Out and about in the South Yorkshire AI scene

We are regulars at local meetups, networking evenings and AI roundtables. The best way to meet us is in person, over a coffee.

Say hello

What we believe

AI should do the boring work, so people can do the work only people can do.

We’ve watched the same story play out for years. A tradesperson buried in quotes and invoices instead of doing the craft they’re great at. A small business owner up at 11pm chasing emails. A team leader spending three days a month on a report nobody reads. Hours of human attention, gone.

That is exactly the work AI is brilliant at, and exactly the work it should be doing. Not replacing your client-facing people, your tradespeople, your owner. Freeing them up to do the bit only they can do.

We’re here to put AI to work in the boring places, so you can spend more time in the places that pay you back.

What worries us

Big-tech AI: enterprise tools, then enterprise lock-in.

Data sovereignty matters

Once your customer notes, your quotes, your contracts and your conversations are inside someone else's cloud, you don't get them back. We design so your data stays yours: on your machines, in your accounts, under your control.

No vendor lock-in. Ever.

We hand over what we build. You recieve the code, the prompts, the data and the documentation. If you want to walk away, you can, and you won't be paying us a subscription forever just to keep the lights on.

All avenues considered

Sometimes the answer isn't a chatbot. Sometimes it is a spreadsheet, a small script, or a process change. We pick what is right, not what is trendy or what is most billable.

Safe by default

We design for the boring 'what if it breaks' first. Human in the loop where it matters. Audit trails, sensible limits, and a way to step away from AI without leaving you stranded.

Where we fit

If you don’t know where to start, we’re here to help.

We don’t turn up with a deck of pre-built solutions. We sit down, listen, and assess where you actually are. Then we advise, with steps that can range from a half day of training to a bespoke piece of tooling, depending on what you actually need.

  1. 1

    Assessing

We sit with you, look at how the work actually flows, and find the boring bits AI can quietly take off your plate.

  2. 2

    Advising

We tell you what we'd do, in plain English, and what we wouldn't bother with. No upsell. Sometimes the answer is small.

  3. 3

    Training

If your team can use AI confidently themselves, that is often the cheapest, most durable answer. We will teach you the bits that matter.

  4. 4

    Tooling

When training isn't enough, we tailor solutions for your business cases, designed to be handed over and easy to step away from.

Three ways to get started

Talk to our AI agent - or just pick up the phone.

The agent will ask the right follow-ups and draft a one-page brief in minutes - but if that's not your style, we're equally happy to take a call or an email. We always come back to you within one working day.
